Does open bolt mean the weapon is an Automatic? Can it be a Semi-auto with an open bolt? Thanks, Rick Hill Hillou812@aol.com

There are both semi-automatic and fully-automatic open-bolt MAC pistols. I think the fully-automatics are call M10, and the semi-automatics are called M10A1, but it has been a long time since I thought about these, so I may not be correct in the model designation. Because open-bolt semi-automatics are so easy to convert to fully-automatic, the ATF stopped the production of the open bolt guns in the early 1980s.
