Armalite M-15 Good Purchase?

I recently paid in full for an Armalite M-15 and then my dealer told me it would be a 5 to 6 month wait for the rifle! Is the Armalite M-15 really worth the wait? And why or why not?

The wait is that long. ArmaLite tells me that the September 11 event spurred sales even more and created the long wait time. They are fine rifles and worth the wait. All the other similar rifles are in about the same situation.

I have had my Armalite M15A2 for a little over a year now. I love to shoot it. It is accurate, reliable, light-weight, and has next to no recoil. The only problems I have had have been miniscule. The gas key on the bolt carrier was loose but was fixed in less than five minutes by the gun store owner. This may just be my rifle, but when shooting Wolf 223 ammo through it, occasionally one empty casing would remian lodged in the upper reciever. The extractor would, when on it's cycle, would rip a small chunk off of the rim of the shell, leaving it in place. This is just a bit frustrating. This has happened to me only when using wolf ammo. I have a P14.45 and put Wolf ammo through it and after that, will never buy Wolf ammo again. It shot like crap, innaccuarate, weak recoil, and poor ejection. However, I do not want to sound like I am discouraging you. It has been one of the best purchases I have ever made. Lotsa fun. By the way, have you considered getting a 22lr conversion kit. Jonathan Arthur Ciener/Atchinson(sp) makes an excellent one. It'll save you money one ammo, especially since the Armalites cost a pretty penny.

Many people talk about the A B C's of the AR world.1.Armalite2.Bushmaster3.ColtThe main reason I have a colt is was a-great deal,b-may have slight better resale than others. But I think both a and b are great shooters and I'd own one in a split second.I've also heard that the AR15.COM group purchase guns are very nice and priced right.
