ARs tough to get

I went to my favorite FFL today wanting to trade a Kimber Warrior with 5 Wilson Combat 8rd s/s mags new in bag, and a Rossi 6" s/s 357 with 4 nib hks speedloaders.
I was going to trade them for a used bushmaster a3 superlight (the last AR he had in stock). He agreed that my trade was worth a good deal more than the bushmaster, but he was unwilling to trade because the ARs are going so quick he can't keep them in stock.

been a couple weeks since i have been there...maybe they are gone.
damn glad i bought my DPMS lr308 when i did ...guy at gun store told my brother that several people stopped in the day after i bought it wanting it.
your kimber is worth $1K alone (with the extra mags)
If you sold both of your guns on GB you could buy a NEW AR.
If you have to have that particular bushmaster, put it on layaway until you sell the others.
just my 2c

Local to me....Larry's in Huntsville and Marks Outdoors.....still has ARs and Marks has lowers in stock.
The guy wanted my 300RUM upper as well, but I think I'll hang on to that particular part.
Don't worry about complete rifles. Think receivers, they're a much better investment.
Why? Technically the receiver is not an AW. So, without the rest of the parts, if there is an AW ban similar to the last one, all you still have is a receiver... good for nothing but a build of a compliant rifle.

The receiver would be "pre-ban" so you could build it into a pre-ban configuration. There was no law last time against converting between pre and post ban style rifles.
Do the math from the last ban: If in 1993 you had bought a complete rifle you would have paid about $700 for it. During the height of the ban you could have sold it for about $1400, or 200% of your purchase price.
If you had bought a receiver in 1993 you would have paid about $70. A "preban" receiver was worth $700-$800 during height the ban, or >1,000% on your money.
How much do you think people will be paying for them the week before the inaugeration? That run on AR's will dwarf the run on them that occured after the election.
