I think I'm almost ready for the ice

We have a predicted ice storm headed this way from tonight through Wednesday. I just refilled the wood pile in the garage, tarped one of the cords outside, and filed the chain on the chain saw. We are going to the grocery after dinner, and then I'm going to fill a couple of diesel cans for the tractor.
When we get back we'll just sit back and wait on the fun. In 2005 we had an ice storm come through that left us with a little over a 1/2" of ice on the trees. I had 7 trees come down, and untold hundreds of limbs break off. Then to top it off we were without electricity for a full week. Fortunately, I had the forethought to have an emergency generator installed when we built the house, so we made it through on the bare minimum of usage.
This time they are predicting 3/4 to 1" of ice, which will raise hell with my woods. Damn, I hate ice storms.[V]

Fine for you - but I have a new firearm due to arrive at my local FFL right in the middle of the ice storm. What am I supposed to do?
