Ever make breakfast in a crock pot?

You know that you're a glorified civilian in a uniform when they have "The 12 Pounds of Christmas" at work when everyone takes turns bringing in breakfast for 50 people. I'd like to incorporate some sort of hot aspect to the mix when my office's turn comes up. I've heard of desserts being made in a crock pot. I was wondering if anyone has ever done breakfast in a crock pot before.

A nice pot of sweet chili would work great for that.

I think my SIL did a breakfast casserole before, I don't see why it could not be done in a crock pot, I can ask her for the recipe if you want.
But then you could just do a big pot of sausage gravy and have biscuits on the side.

Dunno about a crock pot but this fall I made breakfast in a dutch oven. I browned some sausage in the D.O., added hashbrowns, poured some eggs on top, threw in a little cheese and baked. Might work in a crock.

    I GOT IT!![:0]

Make you up a huuuuge batch of sausage gravy, and a load of biscits. Let the biscits cool, then bag'em up. Fill the crock-pot with the gravy for transport, and plug it in when U get to work!
You'll be a friggin HERO!! I know what you're thinkin'...

    SCREW THE VEGINS!!

They can still eat the biscits, unless you make them with lard[}:)][:D]

I won't have any cooking devices at work so I figured I'd be able to come into work early (as usual) and plug in the crock pot full of something I started the night before. I saw some egg casserole recipies for crock pot cooking on the web and they can take 10-12 hours. The biscuits n gravy idea sounds awesome.

Nothing beats biscuits and gravy for a good hearty breakfast.

The only thing that beats just plain old sausage gravy, and biscuits, would be very good venison sausage, and gravy, biscuits, and cajun home fries...won't all of it work in a crock pot though.

You could also do scrambled eggs in a electric turkey roaster. Fry up some bacon and throw on the side of the finished eggs to keep warm.

I'd pass on the biscuits and gravy, too much like wall paper paste. I have used a crock pot to cook * and possum lots of times.

POSSUM not just for breakfast any more!

We make a hot breakfast cereal out of dry oats, barley, and wheat grains. My wife puts the dry grain in the crock pot with some water on low heat the night before, and in the morning it is hot and ready to eat. I take it and put honey & brown sugar on it with a little milk. It is very hearty and sticks to your ribs on those cold blistery Northern NY mornings. It beats oat mill any old day.[:)]

Ids..givette here. Sounds intriguing. Please post what recipe you had decided on, and how it was received by the folks at work. I'd love to hear it. Best, Joe.

....and screwing a vegin will make her a de-flowered vegin, right?

Put the sausage in a bowl on the side for people to add to gravey if they want it. Also some pace's is a good flavor adder.

I don't really have a place to set up an electric turkey cooker but it's a good idea. Where I work is a bit "political" to say the least. It's "pretty" and more of a corporate external appearance. It would be incredibly strange and questionable to see someone cooking over a turkey fryer in the parking lot. Good idea though!

Roaster IDS, not fryer[;)] I have seen them with 3 compartments / trays to use like a steam table.
