Bad rifle!

I had a 3006 that I just couldn't get to shoot straight.
I tried 8 different loads and powders/bullets, had the barrel floated, cleaned and checked over by a smith and still could get at best 6" groups at 100 yds and a lot of flyers. Traded it in for a old (in new shape) mossin-nagent and its more fun with 4" groups.
Ever had a "bad gun?"

    Daddo,
you're supposed to take the lens caps OFF the scope when shooting

    What kinda rifle was it???

My buddy had a mini-14 that wouldn't group for nothing, after trying various types of ammo he decided to get rid of it, but I told him that it wasn't a target rifle, and 4MOA is ideal for such a gun.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

I traded for one of those once...after I tightened the rings so the scope wasn't moving around anymore it was a tack driving sob. This guy had taken his in to the smith too, and he missed it too.

Naw, but I just traded a guy an old Mossin-Nagent for a nice .30-06! That thing groups .05 inch at 100 meters, really shoots great. All I had to do was pull off the lens caps.
