shotgun question and AR-15 question

I have a couple of questions. I am looking for a good tactical shotgun. I cant decide between the Franchi SPAS or the Bennelli M3. I do want an Auto/Pump? which of these is more reliable,faster cycle, and collectable?

Second question....I am looking for a M4 configuration of an AR-15. I want to know which manufacturers make a good gun? I know that the colt is probably the best...but I am looking for somthing a bit less pricy.

    As far as the shotgun goes, I think you want it to be too many things. Fast and reliable...OK but also collectible? IMHO, you need to choose either fast and reliable OR collectible. My "fast and reliable is a Winchester 1300 "Defender" (ie. short barrel.)
    Can't advise you on the AR 'cause I don't know what an "M4" configuration is. I have a pre-ban Colt that has been modified to "select fire". I'm perfectly happy with it. Of course, back in '86 when I had an FFL, I paid about 1/3 of what they're going for now.

    Myself the bennelli auto.

    AR-15 colt is definatly NOT the Best made but they do have the name.

    Quality falls this way by most off the shelf ARs.
    #1-Armilite
    #2-Bushmaster
    #3 Colt/DPMS/RockRiver all fight for 3rd

    I'm very happy with my pre-ban armilite. Functions perfectly, decent accuracy.

    I agree with Gj - Benelli and Armalite. As far as pump or semi-auto, its user preference. Personally, I'd go with pump action. Happy hunting
