...A couple of weeks ago, I posted a topic about getting the Wife's permission to buy another handguns (YYYESSSSSSS!!!!! - was the title). Saturday I put a down payment on a NIB 2" SS Taurus M85 with rubber grips.
My oldest sister is graduating from high school on Monday. I decided to be a good older brother and give her the snubbie for a graduation present. I went all out - two speed loaders, a cleaning kit, and a nice leather holster. I printed out a picture of an identical revolver, Rugerniner's first eight self-defense lessons, created a bill of sale from me to her for the revolver for the amount of $0.01, and put it all together in a three prong folder.
She is an experienced shotgun handler. She is very mature and always uses good common sense. She is in ROTC, on the .22 rifle and PT teams. I trust her to always make good decisions. I thought this would be a perfect gift for her, as she will be starting college this fall.
I did some research on OK (where she lives) and found out the following with a little help from the board:
You have to be 23 to apply for a CCP in OK.
You cannot carry a handgun in your vehicle without one with a few exceptions (as in going to and from a range).
Oh well, maybe she'll go to college out of state, in a state with more sensible gunlaws.
I'm not afraid of the dark...the dark is afraid of me!
