The other day I was out with a friend and we were shooting pistols. I took the anaconda and the NEW python and he had this 9mm. After I had shot several rounds through the 44's he wanted me to shoot his 9. He could only hit the paper plates at 40 yds once or twice per 18 rnd clip. He thought that it was the gun but wanted me to try, and se how it shot. I tried explaining that the pistol was bnot really made for that distance and that it would not shoot all that well, but i tried it anyway. I embraced the thing with both hands and aimed at the plate. I put all 18 shots in the inner middle of the plate. You know the part with out the little ripples. He as well as i were amazed. I started looking at his shooting style and helped him out a little. INstead of hitting it once or twice he hit it 9 times this time. I was truely amazed that this little semi cheap 9 shot that well.songdog

Songdog, It's the same thing with the pistols, rifles or shotguns. Some people just need a little encouragement and coaching. Notice I put encouragement in front of coaching!!! I had a 15 year old kid that was so sure he could be more accurate with a 12 ga. than a 20 ga. last fall, I brought him to my place and gave him a few pointers and let him shoot my 12 ga. Then I let him pull the targets and I used HIS 20ga. I said "It's not the gun, It's the man behind it." After about an hour he had it down. Now I'll put him up against any 15 yr. old in shooting!! It's just that confidence and practice that makes the difference. He can also kill groundhogs with my XP's at 200 yds.

For that price, with three 18 round mags (which I bet are Ramline brand aftermarkets), I bet its a Ruger P series (85/89).

Yep, the Ruger P-series kicks @$$ for the money, but I've never seen a new one that cheap. Minimum I've seen was for $320 NIB, and that DIDN'T include any hi-caps.I admit I never heard on an 18 round mag... seems odd. The factory Ruger p-mags are 15 rounders, and i never heard of an 18 round aftermarket, only 15/16/30. The only thing I could think of would be the glock17 with a +1 floorplate...Please let us know when you find out!!

I have three Ramline 18 round mags for my Ruger P89. They also make them for Beretta 92s.I bought my P89 NIB with two 10 rounders for $289.00 in 1999. I figure a well used one with after-market mags could go for $225.00.
