Hi allDue to recent events, if you are a true patriot, you all should volunteer with your local police. The following is a letter that I sent to my local chief of police and he was very overwhelmed with my support and my patriotism. You can do what ever you like with the letter. Good Luck!!
Name of the ChiefChief of PoliceAddressChief (Name),First, I would like to introduce myself. My name is (Your name) and I have been residing in the City of (Your City)for over years. I have served 6 years in both Active and Reserve components of United Stated Marine Corps. I am also a collector of modern firearms and a member of the NRA.I have been following the events that have been happening around the U.S. and in the world. At the same time, I am aware that terrorist attacks could happen anytime without any warning in any city and state. The City of (Your City) has a small force of police officers due to its small amounts of residents. Under any extreme circumstances such as terrorist actions, large riots or demonstrations, the department may not have enough officers to protect and serve the residents and visitors of (Your City. As the Los Angeles riots of 1992 demonstrated, it doesn't take much for civil unrest to take hold. The city's police force was POWERLESS to stop the numerous acts of violence and vandalism that took place over several days.Due to the military actions that are taking place by U.S. led coalition in Middle East, there are many military reservists being called to action by the President. I understand that there are many police officers that are in reserve components of our military branches and they could be called upon anytime as required. Therefore, I would like to volunteer myself for any assistance that you may need during any crises that may arise. I thank you and your department for a job well done.Cordially yours,Your nameaddressPhone #
