Who do you think was the greatest college team of all time?I would have to go with the University of Alabama any year they were behind Paul Bear Bryant.I am partial to Alabama teams though which is why I picked Bo Jackson for my favorite running back he went to Auburn.

that's a tough one..mainly because the game has changed so much. Athletes today are bigger, faster, stronger and there aren't really the "powerhouses" like there used to be. The playing field is more level so to speak. I am an SEC guy myself and don't think there is a better conference in College football out there as far as talent and week to week competiveness.

I should have labeled the question which college team/coach combination was best?I will give my top 3...(1.)University of Alabama w/Paul Bear Bryant.....(2.)Florida State w/Bobby Bowden.....(3.)Penn State w/Joe Paterno.

I would certainly go with the Bear> I can well remember when football was a gentlemans game, the Bear would sometimes field a team that weighed 80 lbs. per man less than the opposing and still wind up kicking the crap out of them. Upon his passing I wrote a poem about him and with the good wife's help in finding it, I will post it He was one of my Heros and I didn't have many.

As far as Joe Paterno, when he moved into the Big10 Conference, he found out what competition really was....those wins don't come as easy for him now.

Greatest Team of all time?....a lot of good ones, Nebraska with any of their coaches were pretty hard to beat....

i hate college football. there are too many teams and by the time a team starts functioning as a group, the good players have to graduate. Also it gets pretty boring watching the miami's, nebraska's, florida's, demolish these small little colleges 72-0. At least in the nfl every team has a chance of competing, unless your from detroit, carolina, etc.
