Found a quick minute to say Aloha from under the bleachers at the Aloha stadium. Janets ready to do her HBO video and out takes tonight and show Saturday. The promoter gave the US service boy's a huge stack of free tickets. I have the afternoon off so I'm going to some store called Young guns not to far from the stadium.C-YA drawn

Hey have some fun there. I didn't know Hawaii had gun stores, are you sure it's not a museum of sorts?

there are three real gun stores in Honolulu, including one that has an indoor range. Our semi-annual Gun Show is coming up March 2nd and 3rd. While Hawaii has a 2-week wait to purchase each handgun, and no concealed carry permits for civilians, we do enjoy a lot of shooting sports here. There is one good public range complex, with separate ranges for Trap/Skeet, pistol, rifle, silhouette, and combat pistol/ Western action. Also have several Military bases with ranges, with some civilian access. The Democrats have been in the Governor's mansion for something like 30 years, which explains why we have a lot of attempts to curtail our gun rights, but so far they have not succeeded in doing major harm. I have spent way too much time in hearings over the past 25 years. Hard to tell wether salt air or Democrats are the bigger threat to our guns here!

Was there in '81, didn't see any Gun shops, of course my attention was fairly focused on my new Bride...j2k22, I'd say the Democrats are by far more threatening. Saltwater will always look, taste and smell like Saltwater, the same can't be said for the Dems. (or some Republicans!)

Yep Young Guns must be one of the real gun shops. Not a huge place but well rounded selection including reloading and video/book library. 2885 Paa street, suite 100 Honolulu Ha 96819 (808) 833-4867One thing I learned is that in Hawaii no mags over 10rnds that fit in hand guns.Janet's in the can.

Is that the same Young Guns that sells here on GB? I bought a Bushmaster from him once. I thought about trying to get stationed in Hawaii but always thought they had unreasonable gun laws. I wonder how hard it would be to have my guns shipped there after getting stationed there. I remember Fort Lewis, WA like it was yesterday. You could actually buy guns on post at the outdoor recreation center at a MAJOR discount.

No concealed-carry for civilians, no assault style weapons, and mags that could concievably fit into a hand gun cant be over 10 rounds. And you say "they havent done any real damage"????Other than lighting the 2nd Amendment on fire and pissing on the ashes, of course not!

AR's are perfectly legal, but mags need to be limited to accept 10 rounds max, because there is a 10-rd limit on mags that can be used in pistols, and there are a few AR pistols on the market. You can bring your personal firearms in your household goods if you are Military; register them both with HPD and the Provost Marshall's Office on Post. While the 10-round pistol mag limit is an inconvenience, it doesn't really curtail any of my shooting activities. So the Glock 17 only runs 10 rounds per mag- so what? So the H & K USP runs 10 instead of 12- so what?If you had seen some of the really onerous bills that we have managed to get defeated, you would'nt be so concerned about the penny-ante rules that are in place. I would hardly call this "burning the Second Amendment, and pissing on the ashes". We had a Governor for 8 years who stated that one of his goals was to make Hawaii a " gun-free State"!! I wouldn't trade our laws for those of CA or RI or MA or.....! Concealed carry would be nice, though. We had John Lott out here at the last Legislative session pushing for CC, but it will take years before it happens. The same was true of pepper spray, which finally was legalized a few years ago. We are inching forward. Low 80's today, sunny, with a nice little breeze.

Spent 3 years over there, running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. Barbers point most of the time. Enjoy your visit.I have been known to drive downtown with a machinegun and a stakeout (12" barrel shotgun) in the rear window of my P/U. Don't venture far from the truck when I do, for obvious reasons.

Varmint Guns is just around the corner from where I work. The owner operates a Volvo repair shop for his real income, and sells rifles and accessories from an office in the shop. He has some real nice rifles in inventory! As the name suggests, most of his focus is on precision rifles. He also takes a few tables at the semi-annual Gun Show, which is coming up March 2nd & 3rd.
