Best way to judge it is by how many people are on the bank fishin'. Water temp has a great deal to do with it, but I don't remember the temp. I know that Walleyes will run upriver to spawn when it's 38 degrees in the water, at least in WI. That's spring, though. Try spawn sacks on a LONG spinning rod. If ya get one, you need the rod length for conrol, so's ya can steer it out of all the logs, debris, etc. in the river. Good luck, around here, I'd give it a few weeks yet.

Used to be that the electric power prducer(Mohawk I believe)was inconsistant with the flow of water into the river. The salmon would stage at the mouth of the river and wait until Mohawk would open some gates and increase the flow.It seems to me that I recall reading a couple of years ago that they were going to try and keep the flow more consistant.I fished up there but its been years and I don't have any connections with anybody up there who knows what's going on.I would suggest that you check out the yellow pages on your computer for Pulaski NY and look for sporting goods or fishing tackle shops and give them a call to get the skinny on what the situation is up there. These guys are usually eager to help out.Regards

Thanks for the info But sometimes when you call the tackle shops they will tell you anything just to get you there and spend money It is about 250 miles and 5 hours away so I would like to catch fish if I drive that far Thanks Kevin
