I just heard that Wisconsin is about to decide weather or not to ban the possesion of primers....does that mean even the ones already installed?

...like most things it's probably just a rumor....but if it is true, it explains a great many things about Wisconsin....like the Greenbay Packers and those goofy cheese hats......(go Dallas Cowboys), pardon me while I duck for cover from flyin cheese curds....

... which of course would lead to ammo manufacturers standardizing primers as much as possible so that "hunting" loads could not be distinguished from "defense" loads, thereby making it nearly impossible to ban only the "dangerous" primers while allowing the "sporting" primers. 'Guns don't kill people, primers do.' Rumor or political ploy, a very dull mind thought this scheme up.

I think they have finally figured out that taking your guns away won't fulfill their agenda but if they get the ammo. and components it will stop most of us. I would be very dissapointed in this crowd if they couldn't build a passable firearm in their shop but I don't know how many of us could make powder and caps or primers. Let's see Hmmm.. Pipe, caps, rat traps, 2 by 4, plumbers tape, stove bolts........... Yeah that ought to about do it.

Time to stock up on black powder and reloading supplies...they say they last forever if stored right.

Among the reasons for me owning at least one large caliber revolver is that the technology, being well over 100 years old, will be the last to go if everything else gets banned. It's also the reason I stock more ammo than some would find reasonable for near term use. The nice thing about guns and ammo is that they last longer than most people, given decent storage.

I should add that the Second Amendment would probably overrule such a law in Wisconsin, since primers are part of the "means" required to exercise the freedom guaranteed by the Constitutional amendment.
