I was 12. Killed a nice little desert muley forked horn that I walked up on miles from camp. Gutted him and threw him up on my shoulders and walked 10 feet and fell flat on my face. Despite the bloody nose, I couldn't stop grinning for a week.

Saxonpig....I've always had to kill them to eat them. I've never tried it your way. Sounds kinky, but maybe you've got something there.....

My first tree stand hunt I was 28 , I was stalking some hogs and found a stand laying down. So I stood it up, climbed it and waited. I returned it back to the ground shortly there after I don't like Waiting/Stand hunting. It would be better if cooler full of beer could fit up there with you though, you know your done for the day after you fell out the second time! Never did get the hog.

Shot my first deer, a small 8 point, at 14. I hadn't made it to my stand yet so on a technicality 15 before on a stand by myself.

I can still remember every detail of that morning 25 years ago.

Shot a big fat skinhead when I was 12 and got a nice 9 point the next year. I can't bear to stand hunt unless i'm Archery hunting. If there is a gun in hand you can find me still hunting. I can stand for about 30 minutes then I just have to move on. I've been very successful over the years with Whitetails, Mulies and Elk.
