We are leaving tomorrow for a week. My 16 yr old gets to go for the frist time, say's if i let him use one of my guns, he will pack my elk outa the caynon , cook breakfast, and set up the wall tent. YA RIGHTNothing like a little father son bonding, it will be fun. Good luck to all you other elk hunters out there.[This message has been edited by ysacres (edited 10-25-2001).]

I took my son and daughter hunting a few times this season. My daughter took a Forked Horn Blacktail. A nice behind the shoulder shot at around 110+-yds. I gutted and she helped skin. I figure just the fact she was willing to hunt and take a shot was an excellent start.

ysacres, if you'll take me with you, I'll put up the tent, cook, do dishes, clean animals, and even bring my own gun.....I promise you won't have to bond with me either....just take me with....please!

218My son gets to shoot the Remington 700 SS DM 7MM. He killed his buck with it last year, great shot ,so i know he can handle it.I get to pack around a Ruger M77 LS 338 win mag. Just going around the mtn hurts me.(heavy)RembrandtLove to have you as camp cook,(no bonding) betcha make up a mean bowl of chili, I would also pic your brain on how to paint the 46 chev.Take a kid hunting!!!, the best reward of all is the joy on their face. I just cant wait, this is going to be so much fun with the little greenhorn. Away from mommy for a whole week, chase'n elk around them thar hills. I'll let ya'll know if we shoot em' LATER
