I heard it on the news, but forgot where.

Two democrats are in a primary because of redistricting; one if pro-NRA, the other anti-gun.

Winner will still have to face republican in election.

Heard it on NPR so I heard a lot more about the anti gun than I cared to listen to.

Primary elections are being held today in a number of states, Missouri is holding one today. Democrats are already saying a strong Demo. turnout is " a referendum on the publics dissatisfaction with the Republican handling of the economy." Any victories on the local or state level will be exagerated by the liberal press anyway, but we have a number of state rep. candidates who have made support of the 2nd amendment part of their campaign. A loss by any of them will be seen as a rejection of the pro-gun agenda. Sorry I wasn't more specific earlier, I wasn't sure how many states were having an election.

Sure is nice to see so many pro-gun people so aware of when there is or is not an election in their districts. No wonder we are losing the battle, too few people aware of when to go to the polls.

Allen, I think you are being overly harsh. I suspect that those of us who said WHAT??? are in states that do NOT have elections (or primaries) today. I know that to be the case in the peoples republik of kalifornia.

36 seats for governor are up for grabs this year, 16 of them belonging to Democraps. 1/3 of the senate are up for grabs this year. All 435 members of the House of Representatives are up for election this year. So there are Primary elections in every state this year. Mine are on Aug. 27th, when are the rest of yours?

I guess those Bozos who are chastising those who were not aware of the election LEAD was refering to, must think that primary elections are universal throughout the USA.

Then there are BOZOS that don't think Primaries are universal throughout the USA, just not all on the same day. But every state has Primary elections. Name one that doesn't BOZO.

Take it for what it is worth, BOZOS, but I meant to write that some BOZOS must think that primaries occur on the same day throughout the U.S.A.
And if certain Bozos find it offensive that a citizen does not realize when every primary is occuring in every state, one should ask that Bozo if he could recite the dates of all of the primaries, of all of the districts, of all of the states of the USA.
If the BOZO cant do that, then why would that BOZO criticize others for not knowing when ALL of the primaries were-Probably cause that BOZO does in fact think primaries occur universally ON THE SAME DAY everywhere in the US.

    1. The column Independent Filing Deadline shows the date for the filing of petitions by independent and/or third and minor party candidates. This is a general reference date for use by the public and voters. Candidates and others seeking specific information should contact the states for other deadlines that may need to be met. For example, the petitions may have to be checked by officials prior to this date. A declaration of candidacy may be due before the petitions are due. New parties may have different deadlines.

    2. In Connecticut, nominating conventions are held by the Democratic and Republican parties prior to the primary. Democratic conventions: 7/20/02. Republican conventions: 7/20/02.

    3. In Indiana, the Libertarian party nominating convention date is 4/28/02.

    4. In Iowa's Fifth Congressional District, a runoff convention was held by the Republican party on 6/29/02.

    5. In Kansas, nominating conventions are held by the Libertarian and Reform parties. The Libertarian party convention date is 4/27/02, and the Reform party convention date is 5/11/02.

    6. In Louisiana, a primary election is not held for federal offices. The election for candidates seeking federal office is the General Election scheduled for 11/5/02. If necessary, a Runoff Election will be held on 12/7/02. The filing deadline for candidates seeking General Election ballot access is 8/23/02.

    7. In Michigan, nominating conventions are held by the Green and Reform parties. The Green Party convention date is 8/3/02, and the Reform Party convention date is 5/11/02.

    8. In Nevada, nominating conventions are held by the Green, Independent American, Libertarian and Natural Law parties. The Libertarian convention date is 3/30/02, the Green convention date is 4/28/02, and the Independent American party convention date is 4/20/02.

    9. In Puerto Rico, the general election for Resident Commissioner to the U.S. House of Representatives is held every four years, coinciding with the U.S. Presidential election.

    10. In South Carolina, nominating conventions are held by the Constitution, Libertarian, Natural Law, Reform and United Citizens parties. Constitution and Libertarian conventions: 4/27/02.

    11. In Texas, nominating conventions are held by the Green and Libertarian parties. The convention dates are: 6/8/02 for U.S. Senate, 3/16/02 for single and partial county Congressional Districts, and 3/23/02 for multi-county Congressional Districts.

    12. In Utah, nominating conventions are held by the Democratic, Republican, Green, Libertarian and Natural Law parties prior to the primary. Libertarian convention: 5/4/02. Democratic and Republican conventions: 5/11/02. Green convention: 5/18/02.

    13. In Virginia, parties may choose to nominate candidates by convention rather than by primary. Democrats: Conventions are scheduled for 5/11/02 in Congressional District 11; 5/18/02 in Congressional Districts 2, 5, 7 and 8; and, 6/8/02 in Districts 1 and 9. Congressional Districts 3 and 4 will nominate by primary election. Republicans: Conventions are scheduled for 5/11/02 in Congressional Districts 3 and 8. The convention date for District 9 is 6/1/02. Republican nominations for U.S. Senate and Congressional Districts 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 and 11 will be made by primary election.

While not wanting to assume the title BOZO, I do have a comment to the following quote
quote:But every state has Primary elections. Name one that doesn't BOZO. but from the following quote: 6.

Senate and Congressional Districts 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 and 11 will be made by primary election.

it looks like Louisiana, Utah and parts of Virginia are states that don't!

    Good point.

Ever notice how much more time we pro-gun people spend arguing amongst ourselves compared to the antis?

    Food for thought.
