Just kidding, couldn't resist. Friends can shoot whatever I have as long as I am there.Real question, would I need an FFL from a buyer for this? It has no bolt and I don't (THINK) it will shoot. ha ha. It is just a good conversation piece.

If I knew then, what I know now.

Yes a FFL would be needed for this gun. It could be back in working orde in a few minutes. Looks like a single shot Stevens model 120. I saw a handgun with a barrel like this. It had a caption under it that said "The Answer To Handgun Violence"

Send it to Sarah Brady and tell her you've just invented the "safe gun." She should try it out, at least once.

That is a very rare piece. It is a Polish Firing Squad Rifle. No kidding. Ask Capt. Kirk.

OK guys, help me out here, but there were rifles used in WW2 that had curved barrels. If nobody will back me up on this, I will need to go into the vault. I'm not crazy, well if I am, it's got nothing to do with this gun!

cbxjeff; You are right. I saw the Tales of the Gun episode where they said that the barrel would last about 100 rounds or so. It was for shooting around corners.

If I knew then, what I know now.

That poor gun, it makes me want to cry, then it makes me angry at whoever did that to her...

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

    Cbxjeff-

I remember the gun you are talking about, I remember being fascinated with it as a kid after seeing one in the Time/Life WW II series of hardbound books. As best as I can recall, I'm sure the weapon in question was a sub-gun, possibly a 9mm Sten or the .45ACP M-3 Grease Gun, and the curved bbl was an attachment.

Eh, does your friend have a deathwish??
Hm, nah, can't be that foolish..

    hehe...
must be a rifle on it's way to destruction or something...
seriously doubt it happened while using otherwise good russian ammo hehe.

well, if that rifle was in good shape (other than the shown barrel), I'd probably convert it to a short silenced rifle for shooting seals and reindeer at shorter distances and for practising. =o)
we've done that with an old rifle before, in cal. 30-06.
AND with a nice result too I might add, eventhough it was just a test.

ended up with 1.5" groups at 100meters, the gun had about .9" groups before the barreltip burst.

I love my silenced .22 Anshutz rifle =o) And soon to be Steyr Scout with 10-round ext-set. ;o_

greetings, the weapon was later designated the mp-44, it was developed by the germans for the urban warfare of the russian campain, the basic weapon was the stg43 and even it was still being tested. it like most german weapons came tolittle and to late to affect the outcome. i believe they also developed a mp-40 with a 90 degree bbl. (simular to the m-3 grease gun), but i can't locate the archive to verify. respt submitted dads-freehold

Thanks Rodney- I was sorta convinced that I recalled it being and Allied weapon not an Axis invention........but I guess that was kinda obvious from my post.
