I was watching "The FBI Files" last night about a couple of guys that killed a couple of women and stole their vehicles and robbed a bank. When the police dug the bullets out of the victims, the lab said that they were "22 cal. from a semi-automatic pistol". My question is, how did they know whether the bullets were fired from a semi-auto pistol, revolver, single shot, hangun or rifle? Do the markings from the riflings differ between autos and revolvers, handguns and rifles, etc? Or is this just another case of typical TV reporting? It was an interesting episode but it got me to wondering......

The Auto was a Ruger MK I or II.
I think that since it was after the fact and they had the weapon
it was just added in.

That's not fair! I had an Auto-Ordinance M1911A1 Semi-auto single shot that worked pretty much like that!
Got rid of that boat anchor ASAP.
