What is the Problem with Search Function

The search function is now adding a lot more hits for any given search. Before If I typed in 'parts only gun' I would get about 1200 hits, now I am getting 'first 10000'. Similarly, if I typed in "Webley' I would get about 200 to 300 hits now I am getting over 600, 200-odd of which are 'books". I have not changed any of my search settings.

Have the search settings been changed to add more hits? Or is this a glitch?

    Something has changed. My saved searches are also returning a lot of non-irrelevant stuff.

    My guess is that there was an update to the site which included some changes to the search algorithm, but there is a bug in it. I'm sure CaptFun has his team working on it as we speak.

    Thanks for the info. Since it has also happened to you it is unlikely to be a problem with my PC, which was part of my concern. So I will just wait until it is fixed by the IT crew.

    It is more refined now, You have to go to the left side and check filters to narrow your search. If you have saved searches you will probably need to redo them so they follow your search parameters.

    I like the way its set up.

    Like if you are looking for a S&W M 36 revolver you would check:

    Firearms
    Pistols
    Revolvers
    S&W
    Model 36

    You could also add:

    2" Barrel
    38 Special
    Blued Finish
    wood grips

    This would further refine your search.

    I just tried to create a new search using the side filters. Then saved it and tried to use the saved search. Nope, it lost half of the filters I'd selected. Something is not working right with the search functionality.

    I did the same and it did not work either. There must be a glitch in the system.

    I tried

    Firearms
    rifles
    bolt action
    Steyr Mannlicher
    SSG
    26 inch Barrel length

    I saved the search and all it saved was the 1st 3:
    Firearms
    rifle
    bolt action
