Shipping single action revolver to a shop for work

Does anyone know if I can ship a single action revolver to an FFL dealer to have work done on it and once the work is done can the shop ship it directly back to me or will I need to do this through an FFL dealer? I'm in California and the shop is an FFL dealer in Indiana.
