The man can call ducks and make duck calls though, and he played in the NFL.

I didn't know he played in the NFL.

Phil was All-State in football, baseball, and track which afforded him the opportunity to attend Louisiana Tech University on a football scholarship, where he played first string quarterback ahead of Terry Bradshaw.

Phil's been quoted as saying "Terry went for the bucks, and I chased after the ducks.

But, after college he was a teacher for several years, not a Football Player.

Phil Robertson was my PE coach in 1969, Sept thru the first of Jan. when I went to the baseball team. He was a good quarterback at La. Tech. He was a lot of fun, would play two below with us just like he was one of the gym students not a stuck-up like a lot of the other coaches that were former athletes. Fair Park High 1969-1970. We won the state championship that year. (I was only on the team)

Don't know if he ever played in a game, but I had one of his first videos in which he stated he went to the NFL after college, but it interfered with duck hunting, so he quit.

Don't know if it's true. He could be full of crap.
