Anyone have a reasonly price unit they could recomend?

Our entire house is carpet and it holds in dust and allergens. I'd like to get an air purifier, but don't know which ones are any good.

I'd like to buy a Ionic Breeze, but I've heard mixed results.

A LOT of the Portable units are great at making Ozone, but not so great at ridding the dust and allergens. I put in a Honeywell Electrostat years ago, and emptied it of Buckets of Fuzz, Grey Dust, Hairs, and tar, every Five or Six Months. This was while I lived in Loa Angeles Exurb/Smokestack, Ontario, Calif.

This Unit went into the A/C and Heating Ductwork.

We Have a Multi Fuel furnace
    Wood /Oil/Coal
    When burning Coal
When you remove the Ashes They are soooo Fine They Just Bilow Up From the Coal Scuttle Every Scoop.
The basement Is An old Dirt floor Stone Wall Basement The Ashes Settle Everywhere..
This year I Was Sick of it ..
I put a Mobilehome Furnace blower in a wooden Box 16X16
made it So the Intake would House a 16x16 furnace Filter Covered it with 1/8" Foam Same as is in the Mobile Home Furnace Door.
mounted it to the Ceiling About 6 Feet from the Front of the Furnace.
before I Clean the Ashes I turn it on
My Dust Goes up and Right to that lil' Box And Thats were they Stop
Works Great Used it a Month So far And have not Had to Clean it Yet
What a Life Saver literally.. it is saving our lungs No Doubt[^]

We got a Hunter. One of the top rated models according to Consumer Reports. None are perfect, but this one works pretty well for a large room. House sized units attach to HVAC systems and are a different order of magnitude all together. This one make ozone, but that is contra-indicated for asthmatics, so we rely upon the filtration. Just a bit noisy, but it does not keep us awake.
