Now it's time to pick on the yankees [:D]
It's been awhile since I've been up here and subjected to this hillarious accent and this trip has been entertaining. When I get around Canadians I always say "eh" trying to bait them into going into full auto "eh" mode and it works most of the time [:D] When up here I adjust my chameleon accent and act like I'm from Boston just to get them going, it works well [:D]
This trip back, I have a load of lumber on but up here it's called Lumbah. A glass of water is whatah, numbers are numbahs, Boston is Bahstun or Bahstin depending on what side of Boston they are from.
The one that cracks me up is the town of Worcester, not really sure how y'all will pronounce it but up here it's called Wooshtah! Not even close to the spelling but if you say Wooshtah the locals know exactly what you're talkin about.
So I guess we can go warsh the cah then go to the bah and get a bee'ah, know what I'm sayin?!
This reminds me, Adam Sandler, Tollbooth Willy, gonna have to look that up since I haven't heard that one in awhile [:D]

way ..if she new were the spotted dick in a can was[:D]
I had to google it.
Oh, and a friend from Beantown educated me about the car/cah. lumber/lumba 'thing'.
If the 'r' is on the end, it's pronounced 'ah'. If the 'r' is within the word, it's pronounced 'r'.
Thus you can park the cah in the yard.
If you get far enough North in Canada the phrase often heard is: right, ya know, eh?

I'd LOVE to got to Boston just to order coffee and see what face they made when I started speaking. Plus, it would be awesome to go somewhere that had a prominent accent that was as inescapable as my own
She couldn't figure out why everyone would start laughing when I asked her to say, "Pop a Cork".[:0][:D]
