how do you prefer yours ?

i throw it all in a bowl like chili and crackers

wife eats her bread on the side

    Ham on the side and I prefer purple hull peas. I crumble the cornbread up in a bowl, beans peas over the top of the cornbread (not too much bean pea juice at this point), a little chopped onions, a little dill pickle juice over the top, a little pepper sauce (peppers in vinegar) over the top, add some more bean pea juice. That's the way my grandpa showed me about 65 years ago.

    I hope you mean Navy Bean soup made with the ham bone that has plenty of meat left on it.
    We have to make two batches of cornbread since she likes hers with ick sugar in it.
    Then after we ate the bean soup the dog used to get the bone before she died. She would carry the ham bone everywhere she went for at least a week.

    Ham and butter beans for me, although I like limas almost as much. A dash of hot sauce. Cornbread on the side. To make it perfection, a glass of cold buttermilk.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

    Bean Soup !!! in a bowl , w-pepper & tabasco sauce & corn bread w-real Butter !!! and a big hunk of onion and a big glass of Unsweet Tea !!!!

    One of my favorite meals !!!!!!!!!

    Make mine cottage ham please and plenty of cornbread, some in the beans and some on the side with butter and grape jelly.[^]
