Anybody have a LCP? A buddy of mine has a Smith Bodyguard, but I like the looks of the LCP better.

Anyone have one yet? I was thinking about gettin one since its kinda inexpensive and easy to conceal.

How do they shoot? I have large hands so would it be a problem for me to shoot one?

Was at the farm this weekend and we all got the toys to play and a guy had a new LCP, I have to say i was impressed. Only negative I had was I didnt like that the slide does not lock open after the last shot. I feel that in a defensive situation it would be easy to think you had one more round ready to go due to the lack of a lock back slide.

Good or bad? Thinking of getting one. I carry a cz75 compact in 40 S&W but it gets heavy for all day carry. I was thinking i could keep the Cz in the truck and carry the LCP when i go into places ect. What do you guys think of the Ruger Lcp , i know there is a lot of Ruger guys here with some knowledge. Thanks in advance.

This looks like a good little gun for the price, $280. Anyone have experience with it? Buy or not buy?

Just picked one up from the PSA sale for $169, free shipping. Why? you might ask. I dunno, but at 9 oz. (empty) it seemed like it might come in handy during hot FL "t shirt & shorts" weather.

I took it to the range yesterday and it functioned perfectly with ball & hollow points. I put the "pinky rest" floor plate on the mag; the pinky still missed it but it was still reasonably comfortable to hold. I also got an extended 7 round mag, and that helped a bit.

Trigger pull is long with long reset, but it was still surprisingly good. Overall, I'm happy with it as a hot weather "better than nothing" option when few other pistols could be easily concealed.

Ruger has stopped production of their LCP pending a lawsuit from Keltec.

Same thing that happened to the Smith Sigma and Glock.

I have had a couple LCPs come through and was able to take the Keltec and LCP to the range for a side by side shoot out.

I like the LCP much better than the keltec.
Ruger tweeked the grip area for a more ergonomic fit to the human hand and also enlarged the trigger guard which made for a more comfortable shooter over the keltec which always rubbed my trigger finger after every trigger pull.

The LCP also has a slide hold open which makes cleaning easier.
I have heard the rumor about a lawsuit also but I think it is just a rumor according to the distributors.

I still have one LCP that I have been slipping in my pocket on the hotter days.

I'm pretty sure the lawsuit is not just a rumor.

yeah, i just contacted my local dealer, he says no lawsuit, its just ruger cant keep up with production. he will put me on the waiting list when i bring him $299.99, which is the total payment, and then contact me when they come in. he also says that they are toying around with adding another mag.

I have owned and shot both the Keltec and Ruger LCP and the Ruger is the better buy.

The distributors also are saying that Ruger is ramping up production to catch up with demand.

Keltec never patented the design that they copied from the Grendel pistol.

so far i've had three LCP's through the shop, longest one lasted about 20 hours. No one has reported any problems with them at all.

As far as the lawsuits, no one in the industry i've talked to has heard of that either. i do not belived that there could be much clout to a lawsuit, as the KelTec is copied from the Grendel 380 in the 80's from what i have seen.

Kind of like getting a ticket for running a yellow light....

Demand is high enough that they are selling above MSRP. Some guys have no impulse control. At least one of the principals from Grendel was also one of the founders at Keltec, the designer I believe. So Keltec is not so much a copy as a continuation.
