If I'm reading it right, the Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson gives a production date for L frames in that serial # range of
    Jan.1984-Nov.1984. Probably closer to Nov.

The Smith and Wesson forum is very good, but sometimes a little hard to register to.

Thanks.....I would have bet money that you would have been the one to have that info. [:)] I've been around long enough to know that anyone who loves old Winchester 22s would love S&W revolvers too....[:D][:D] BTW, I've got a couple of old 1890s, a 62A and a model 61. All shot regularly. [:p][:p] Thanks for the info...

Winchester .22s are my first love, but I'm not faithful. I do have a small group of S&Ws.

Locust Fork, The third edition of the Standard Catalog of S&W is finished and will be printed soon. The second edition is getting very hard to find. Contact Jim Supica, one of the co-authors at
    http://armchairgunshow.com/

They are taking orders for the third edition on that web site.

wundudnee.....I remember that picture. [:D] Beats my little family of a Model 15 Combat Masterpiece, Model 17 and 586.
I should have kept all the others that I went through over the years, but at the time, I didn't know that stupid was temporary and ugly was permanent. [:D][:D] I even traded a beautiful little K22 straight across for a brand new 10/22 that had just came out at the time. But, the girl I traded with promised to go on a date with me for a bonus...[:I][8D] Worse deal ever......[:I][:I] Anyway, thanks for the website.

wundudnee. You ought to post that pic every couple of months or so just for the motivation factor. I own exactly two Smith revolvers (one will be finished when I come up with a few<hundred> more sheckels). If I hadn't been sidetracked by a 1911 bug, I'd have more by now.

Smith & Wesson forum is not difficult to register to,they will not accept the phoney e-mail addresses like Hotmail and Yahoo.Use a standard e-mail address and you'll have no trouble.[:)] [^]
