Damn Google search

Anytime I do a Google search (example: Taco Bell), the results shows Taco Bells located near Pleasant Plains, AR. I'm not located and never been located in Pleasant Plains, AR.

I've tried everything I've found on the net to change my location and nothing has worked.

Disgusted!

I have Hughes Net Satellite internet, you should see what the robot's try to "suggest" as my location. I figure it's tied to the last server that sent the data to their server.

Disclaimer - I dunno, just an internet dummy.[:o)]

I just Googled Taco Bell and it gave me the McMeans street address here in Bay Minette so it's not Googles error.

I would probably go to Google and get driving directions from your current physical address to some other place in your zip code.

Search for 'Taco Bell' and enter your location in the search. Easy peasy.

Not sure what you did wrong but it is at your end. Google gave me a list of Taco Bells with the top one being the closest.[:D]

I'm aware of that; but, your (my) location should show correctly in Google maps. It doesn't. Go to Google maps, if you use Google, and the map shown should show your/my location. Mine shows Pleasant Plains, AR.

I only used Taco Bell as an example, geez! It may work for you but not for me.

it is going off your isp location

    Check and update your location

On your computer, do a search on Google.
Scroll to the bottom of the search results page. You'll see your location.
To update your location, click Use precise location or Update location.
If you're asked to share your device's location with Google, click Allow.

Try Duck Duck Go. It does not track your every internet move and flood you with advertising. There is some advertising but a blocker will fix it, and it will not be trying to sell you whatever you looked at this morning for the next three days. Google sux, period.
