Whats your opinion on scope mounts, is a one piece base or two piece base better and why?

I tend to prefer the one-piece mounts myself. I find myself having to put loctite thread-locker on my two-piece mounts or they come loose.

I am a die hard Weaver 2 piece mounts and rings fan. Simple, sturdy and have never had a problem with them no matter what type of rifle I install them on.

I prefer two piece bases. I use mostly Talley rings and bases which are as bullet proof as they come and never need locktite, though I don't shoot over 7mm mag. Theoretically, the one peice bases should be more rigid and perhaps lend rigidity to the action, but I have found that some restrict access to the receiver, making it more of a chore to access for cleaning. I always used the lowest bases that will allow the bolt to clear the scope.
