Setting around today petting one of my old dogs and "wool gathering".
Just too hot to do much of anything else.
To you younger whippersnappers, "wool gathering" is an old term for daydreaming.
In any event, with it hotter than heck out side I remembered something my mom said back when I was just a kid.
Mom told me how my grandmother used to sit and cry when she heard this song that everybody and his brother recorded at one time or another.

Seems my uncle Ralph and uncle Lewis were fighting in Europe or Africa somewhere during WW2 and wrote home about the heat and lack of water.
