LOS ANGELES (AP) - Police investigating the death of a Los Angeles man uncovered an arsenal inside his home and garage - more than 1,200 guns and about two tons of ammunition, authorities said Monday.

I guess I'm just small-time.
It's too late for me, save yourself.

..I just read about this. I hope the heirs get what is rightfully theirs. I wouldn't bet on it though...considering the location.

Nice how they just piled them up with no regards to try to not damage the guns.

Whiny liberals ruled by whiny liberals. The elderly guy they interviewed kinda has that typical NE/Yankee demeanor [xx(]

quote:There were no signs of foul play in the man's death, nor was there any indication that he had been involved in criminal activity. However, detectives want to investigate why the man had so many guns and whether the weapons had been linked to any crimes.

Can you not just collect something anymore??? Geesh...

They will probably say there is no receipts for them, so they will just keep the ones they want and destroy the rest.

Maybe that was his way of investing. He probably figured guns and ammo would be better than the stock market. If he had next of kin and a will, they have no business taking that stuff out of his house. They should have just secured it until he was identified and autopsy done.

some one said it was a stock photo not even the guns they "took" in the original post about it

I am sure they took possession to save the public from falling into the wrong hands I just hope his relative's knew about and had a list, but I think Kaliforina there screwed any way [:(!][:(!]
I go along with just a ay to invest his money with a good return and easy to turn into cash which the government knows and hates

There was a case recently where an old guy was in the hospital and some young thugs broke in and stole his firearms (not adequately stored obviously) and the drive by media describes the house as abandoned. no * wipes, the man was in the hospital. His house was not abandoned.

CA has something called a "Law Enforcement Gun Release" form. Basically, when LE gets their hands on your gun you get to pay them $20.00 and go through a background check to get it back. See, just because it's "your gun" doesn't mean you get to have it. A local FFL had two of my guns on consignment, he got shut down by DOJ, so I got to wait a month, spend $20.00 per gun and drive 1 hr to a DOJ rented room and snag back my guns.

1,200 guns times $20.00 - $24K just to get the guns back.

The good news is, if the guy has heirs there's probably enough money involved to hire a lawyer. My bet is LAPD & the LA DA will do everyting possible to dump them in the ocean.

There is no way the police will confiscate those firearms. Don't you remember all the bikes they bought for poor kids?

If he has heirs they are screwed. Whenever the police haul off a bunch of guns they seem to just pile them in a truck. No regard to the fact that they are dealing with the valuable property of someone else. That, my friends, is a crime in my mind and should be in the eyes of the courts. From what I read, many were new in the box and never used. Could be a lot of money depending on how old they are and what they are.

Had it been WV, I would have mourned the passing of GubmintCheez. But, wrong state and they did not say High End collection.

Glad you are still with us Cheez![^]
