A little bow hunting sucess......PIC

I know, not what you were expecting....It has been over 90 everyday since whitetail season opened on Saturday. Way too hot even in the early morning.....What can I say but MMMMMMmmmmmm Squirrel.
Good practice and tasty... 18 yard shot.

    He is a nice red one....there are grey ones around but mostly reds in my neck of the woods.

    We call those Fox Squirrels. I have both fox and gray here in SW Arkansas. Both are good eating, especially when they are cutting the hickory nuts and white oak acorns.

    Sure we can talk about it. I was 15 feet or so up a hill from him. He was facing away, the arrow caught him at about the shoulder blades and exited at the wound
    you can see in the Plc. Pinned him to the ground, he succumbed to the shot quickly....

    That would be a "gray" in PA, our "red" are about half that size and have a cream or almost white belly.

    I tried hunting squirrels with a bow. No Joy. Lost a ton of arrows. I'm a pretty good shot, but them there squirrels are hard to hit!!! Good shot. Tasty too!!!!

    Good shootin'. We call those fox squirrels and find most of them in the wood line along the fields, in the fields and along the river, red squirrels are a lot smaller and found mainly in the pines here and grays are everywhere. They're good eating and a bit tougher to skin than the grays.
