In another thread you mentioned living in Crete. I lived there for 2 years while stationed at IAS. It was one of the best tours I ever had. Those Greeks really know how to party and that ouzo and raki will really kick you @$$. I even liked the retsini.

I have also heard good things about Belize. A lot of southern people went there after the war of Northern agression and there are close ties with the US. Tom

    I did not live in Crete, that is I only lived there for two weeks. That is actually enough to see most of the island that is accessable by road and then some. Yes, I did indeed like it a lot. I like Retsina, but you can keep the Ouzo, Metaxa isn't bad either. Fresh shrimp, redfish, cuttlefish, squid every day, not to mention souvlaki and other wonderful things.

    Belieze is an english speaking country alright, though I am told the crime rate is astronomical and affects tourists.

    Must have been a great two years you had on Crete!
