The saga continues!
In our last episode, Hunt Walker had said he was interested in getting Dolly for his girlfriend's 6yr old daughter and had previously planned a trip to his home town of LaCygne Kansas for this weekend anyway .
Ms. Kimber, (although I was unaware of it) had been "softening" to the idea of keeping Dolly . some very subtle hints I didn't pick up on until it was almost too late . hints like on Friday morning said: quote:"We shouldn't call her "Dolly", that was her mothers name" . then around noon said: quote:"We should pick her water up after 10pm so she doesn't have to go potty in the middle of the night." Then Saturday morning when I was needing to leave to check on things and Dolly was whining a bit, Ms Kimber said quote:"Oh, just put her on the bed with me ." Then when I got back . the "kicker" . quote:"Well if he doesn't take her . we can keep her."Well, at this point, I would have told Hunt that the Ms. has had a change of heart and we're going to keep her but we had already arranged to meet when he got to town, and there was no way for me to call him back .
Well, to make a long story shorter . we met at the turnpike gate at about 1 pm, then he followed me to our house . and for some unexplained reason he decided not to take the sweet little pup. In all fairness to him, it could have had something to do with me telling him what Ms. Kimber had said, and how she was softening up to keeping her . So now he's looking for another pup . and I do appreciate it, because if he'd said he wanted her, I would have let her go.
Anyway, we had a great afternoon getting acquainted . although it was the first time we'd met, it was more like catching up with an old friend I hadn't seen in a long time. Abby kept Hunts 12 yr old son Justin entertained as only a 3-year-old can . they played with Dolly and Kate and Abby seemed to pick on him like she would a big brother and he seemed like a great kid.
Lastly, we did some looking on-line for another Dachshund . and guess what we found . a gun show next weekend in KC . and as it turns out he's going to be in town next weekend too so we're going to try to get a GunBroker get-together next Sunday at the Kansas City Blue Ridge Mall . of which I'll make another post for that!

ISP - I was pretty sure I could count on you and Scott, there are a few more in the area ... I've never been to the Blue Ridge Mall - anyone know where a good meeting place is or does anyone know an FFL with a table?

See if TR wants to come. I think he might still be looking for an AK.
