I grant that we have many Freedoms not afforded to people of other countries, BUT!!!!!

I was pondering The past (share cropping) and (slavery) as it was in this nation.

Are we not the (share croppers and Slaves) to the federal Government.
Think about it>

Do you Own your HOME. NO! if you dont pay the taxes on it, they will take it away from you. so you forever owe the government.

Are you free to Drive a car? No! only with permission (Driver License)

I realize that Taxes are a part of the american way, But as In Ancient Rome (Pay to Ceaser that which is due Ceaser) or face the penalty.

There are new limitations put upon us every day. Too many to list.

So I ask have we become slaves to a Government???????

Try making a list of things that you can do, that you dont need some form of government permission. I know one (have kids) (some people should have permission for this)

There is a simple answer to your question, yes. We are not free men any longer. You cannot even get married without state consent via. marriage license. Look at the taxes we pay, Home owners tax, personal property tax, income tax, sales tax, estate tax, inheritance tax, dog tax, city tax, school tax, tax, tax, tax, even a freaking food tax in some states. We have no rights, only privelages that we must first pay a fee to the government before we are allowed to excercise them. The government has become a money hungry self serving tyrant and cares about nothing more than increasing its powers and decreasing ours.
The reason no permission is needed to have children is that they are future tax payers.

How else can the U.S.A. come up with all the billions of $$ we send annually to countries all over the world?

But, at least all of those countries love us dearly for all the help we give them. Right?

Hmmm, I think the question is bogus. The Federal government sends $2 to my state for each $1 they collect in taxes. While many controls also seem to me to be over the top, if you live in a society you must fund schools, community centers, Senior Centers, Libaries. Those things are the only reason to live in cities. It is not like there was ever a time when people had more freedoms than they do in the U.S., This business of thinking every one ought to be totally free to do what ever they want is silly.

Ye, the idea of wanting to live the way our founding fathers invisioned, without government interferance, is silly and childish, hell we should've just stayed part of merry old england and let them tax us to death too I suppose.

No, of course not. My point was that the taxing started with the founding fathers, the only difference was that it was taxation with representation. So, to pretend it was really different 200 years ago is disingeneous. IF you happened to live way out on the frontier two hundred years ago, perhaps so, though you could still be conscripted.
