Pistol for the home

Looking for opinions on what pistol would be best for the home(caliber and model).
A couple of variables: 1. I would like a revolver.
2. Something that my wife could handle also.

I keep a S&W Combat Masterpiece loaded with hollow points for one of my home defense handguns. This is the one that my wife can shoot with confidence. It's mainly for her protection if she ever needs it. It's an old police trade-in that I bought at the Sacramento Armory back when California was semi-normal. It was well maintained and has an extremely smooth double-action.

Try a 357 revolver of some type
they are easy to clean.you can always step down to a 38 cartrige
so a woman with little hand strength can handle it
the most important thing is to go to the range and pratice with it before you need it(you and the wife)
and it is great fun to compeate with or train the wife to shoot

my wife shoots better than me
guess i need to pratice more

I would pick the Taurus Model 617 .357 SS 2" barrel, 7 shot, ported. I just bought one for 345.00. The gun shoots fantastic, with very little recoil with factory .357 rounds. It is very accurate. I shoot old CD'S at 50 yards. I can hit them almost everytime with this gun. I would pick a revolver, over a automatic every time for home defense, untill I could get to my 12 gauge. The Taurus also comes with a lifetime warranty. Can't beat that.
