It's discouraging to know thta if that sampling is correct, 32%of somewhere near 250,000,000 or about 75,000,000 people in the United States feel justified in disregarding the Constitution and our rights and freedoms. But on the good side, 68% or more than twice as many, think that the Constitution and our rights are just fine.

Ray: Walk around sometime and test the average person's gullibility - the 32% is surprisingly low for how dumb the average American is in terms of common sense and the Constitution together.

Good morning Beth. Take every small step in the right direction as a victory. The general opinion on guns didn't change overnight. It has taken about 3 generations to get to where very few respect gun owners and hunters. It'll take a long time to get back to where we aren't considered criminals and barbarians. Learn from the anti-smoking group. "Small steps lead to large victories". Smile and look at the glass as half full. [8D]

I would not place much credence in that debate or in the Poll as it was held in the most anti gun-self protection country (England)

Dealing with the public, and being around gun people daily, I have found that about 1 in 5 women believe that guns are evil and with men, that 1 in 20 believe that we dont need guns..

There really isnt anything "Won" here, just someone pointing out some numbers of those that favor gun ownership and those that dont, these numbers probably havent or wont change over the past 25 or the next 25 years..

    Won what?....

What did it do?...Will it change the laws?...Will it change peoples minds about anything?...

How many were surveyed?....2 out of 3 is just over 66%....stats are no good unless they show ALL the data....too easily skewed.....

Where are the rest of the figures?...

I dont mean to be picky, or put a damper on anything, but maybe saying WE WON is a bit premature?....

The web site leaves out a lot, and I mean a lot of info....

There is no way this "poll" represents a true sample. Its not possible.

Only the ones who had strong feelings about gun control (ie gun lovers and gun haters) probably paid the $10 to watch the thing, plus on top of that there had to be extreme amounts of ballot stuffing by others, such as those on this board.

This kind of thing is a bit depressing because if you put up freedom of speech for a vote, or freedom of religion, or even the right to remain free of unreasonable search and seizure, you'd find huge numbers of Americans who didn't support those things either!

    Won what?

Hell! The gun war has been raging for decades and will continue for years to come. If you think the U.N. was done in by a obscure vote then you got a surptise coming.

After all us old folk are gone you young people will have to carry on the fight- lots of luck!!

Sounds like I need a new gun to celabrate. Anyone know where I can get the money fast (and I'm not gonna sell a kidney)?

I would not put *any* credence in this poll. It was open to anyone with a modem who wished to vote, throughout the world. And the only check on the "ballot" was a variation in email address. I know "someone" who voted pro-gun at least six times . . . .

That said, everyone here knows full well - more than full well - if the results had run the other way, it would be front page news in The New York Lies and every other leftist anti-American internationalist propaganda organ in the world as being "the will" of the American people.

"There is nothing lower than the human race - except the french." (Mark Twain) ". . . And liberals." (me)

There were opinions taken, call em votes if ya like, but they were not votes, no one voted on anything, other than who they thought presented their case better, the Pro gun or the Anti gun, One might win a debate, but not gain anything else, nothing changed, the laws and the restrictions, or the freedoms still exist as they did before said debate.. No ones opinion was changed on the issue at hand, or at least no figures were given to indicate there were any.......we dont win untill you change many minds or laws, then ya can say we won something....

I still like the win, although I agree such a poll can be misleading.
