Okay, so if we don't use PayPal, what do we use? Is there another similar service out there?

Do not mention Pay Pal or use Pay Pal for any firearm dealings- they will freeze your account and send a form letter saying you are in violation of their rules.
ANY FIREARM --ANY-- Antique or not is a violation of their rules- read them--
Pay Pal is not governed by US banking laws and as such can make any changes they want without you being able to do anything about it.
Dont cry when its to late. You have been warned

While checking out today at the local Home Depot,I saw a small attached sign at the counter. I asked the cashier what was that about, and she said: "Pay Pal is the way of the future".....I looked down at her and said: "Do you know Pay Pal will not let you pay for all things"?....She asked why?...I said,Pay Pal will not accept payment for a fire arm....she just looked at me with a blank stare...[:o)]

For all you people that wanted to throw your money away on Pay Pal you now have your chance."Shares of PayPal Inc. soared 55 percent in the online payment provider's stock market debut Friday...."PayPal has a patent infringement suit pending against it, several state regulators claim it is running an unlicensed bank & best of all PayPal has never made a dime.So far the company has lost $283 million including a 2001 loss of $107.8 million on revenue of $104.8 million.I can't wait until monday to "invest" my retirement savings.

I don't mind paying them a minimal fee on credit card transactions as it DOES cause them something, but why should paypal funded transfers or checking account transfers have a fee??? I doubt they'll go away, but I only use them to recieve money, and then when buyers agree to pay the extra charges.

Gruntled, that was on the IPO Friday. You'll have to wait 'til Tuesday to read the ticker on Paypal (Mon is Pres day); As a ".com" it doesn't have to make money to skyrocket. Remember, there's lots of folks who missed out on the ENRON, and other .coms fireworks who can get in on the ground floor here.

I have a Personal, not a Business, account with PayPal and have upgraded slowly and with great caution to be sure I understand exactly what they're allowed to do. But then, I don't do beaucoup transactions at this point, either, so I'm not qualifying for some of the percentage deductions. What was it they heard the guy yell as he flew past the window while falling off the Empire State Building? "So far, so good!"

I run anywhere from $5000 - $7000 a month through PayPal. No problems.I do not use their other services such as ATM/Debit Cards, WebShops, etc. Strictly as a credit card processor. The discount rate I'm paying is better than my traditional credit card processor.I sincerely hope they stay in business for a long time.

Losing money works for Amazon.com. All their money is on paper only. What are the exchange letters for PayPal? Speaking of "Wish you had bought something and didn't" I kick my self in the * for not buying Krispy Kreme after IPO.

Ruger it's PYPL. I didn't hear about the IPO till late Fri afternoon so I missed the early price. Closed at 20+ after a high of 22+. Think it opened at around 15.Now talkin' bout stuff we should a bought - you may think I'm nut's but I got a block of KMart last week. Bought in at .95. Just gonna sit on it and see what they do over the next few months. I figure if they actually go belly up I'm out a grand - lost more than that at the casinos. If they make a come back could be a tidy 10 to 1 return. To tell the truth I've never fooled with stocks before. Just got a wild hair. Friend that does it a lot told me the 'day traders' will run the thing up and down a few points but if it's gonna go it will ease up progressively until the 'funds' (as he calls em) see that they are going to make it then it will take a good sized jump then settle back in to the minute back and forth. You got a lot of 'sperence in this stuff?

I bought a health stock (HGR) for $4.35 less then two years ago. It fell to a low of .86 cents about ten months ago. Now it's almost $9.00. They make prosthetics. I don't know if the war has anything to do with it or not. All my other stocks are slowly rising. But look what this one stock did in the past year. I would not advise buying it. I can't see it going much higher.K-Mart won't fold, they will restructure. They only have two competitors, Wal-Mart and Target. What would that Old Bird Martha Stewart do if they fold.

I agree Ruger. I see them doing a restructure combined with trimming some fat and a new customer service policy. Might even move more into specialization and drop some lines.Like I said, just did it on a whim. Figure to hold at least 2 years.

My dad had a large quantity of stock in Microsoft. It split several times and while waiting for it to split a final time, it plummeted. Cash out half, a bird in the hand is... well... better than kicking yourself in the butt for a few years...

SaxonPig;I'm not saying sell your stock or anything like that. But keep an eye on H-D right now they are in the Finacial news. They have some problems, it might be just changing accounting systems.Which is what a whole lot of companies are doing right now since EMRON. I wish I bought H-D back when the employees bought it back from AMF. But I was to busy riding my 56 Panhead (straight leg ridged frame). I still have it in my garage. As long as there are Americans Harley will always be strong.Go to any financial page, punch in H-D, and hit "news". See what it says. I shoul have done that before this post and I wouldn't have had to type so much. *************************************And buying K-Mart under a dollar? How can you go wrong? I'll bet you double your money in less than 12 months.

Speaking of Disney, they usually ride around $35 and when the stock gets as high as $70-75+, in the past they have split because they like to keep their stock affordable. After 9/11 Disney went down to at least $19 because of the theme park uncertainty. Now they're back up to $23 or so. If I had some extra to put down and sit longterm, I'd try to ride Disney back into the 30's and above, personally. They're still making hits and summer is big theme park season.

palpal has been a real good thing for us
we get more bids and higher bids because we take paypal----we have a premiere account and are charged a small percentage
we have never had a bad thing happen yet
we feel the transaction fee is a small price to pay
we do not charge our customers any fees----we absorb the cost
find it sure makes life easier and faster
we can sell an item tonight----ship tomorrow
you might get your item in 2 - 3 days
some of us who purchase lots of stuff on the internet really appreciate the fast service as well. we have to give paypal a 1st class A+ rating!

I noticed some Auctions charge 3% more for PayPal, isn't that kinda petty?

Hey, just a thought. If we all bought shares in K-mart, we would have votes as share holders. We could proxy ourselves together and turn them pro gun. That would be something to see. WOODS

I like pay pal too... ive used it in the past when *********** was free amd I could get stuff from midway USA without shipping and no smal order fee. I sold lots of reloading presses and ammo boxes and even a few bigger ticket items. I used palpal and just charged $1.00 extra for it.. some of the time it cost me more but it was worth it... I think alot of the bidders trust pay pal over some joe they don't know with their credit card. Im not sure what pay pal can do if you get ripped off, ive never had that happen to me yet (knock on plastic) when using pay pal Now I just use it to buy things from people that normaly will hold my checks 10 days be fore shipping.
