I have browsed around on the web quite a bit, but don't see much mention of pre-WWII Mauser .22 sporter rifles in the U.S. Over here in South Africa they are fairly often seen at gun shops are go for around $390. Does anyone know roughly what they are worth in the U.S. and why the U.S. web is so silent on the matter?

You see a few at the gun shows but most are in bad condition due to poor attempts at scope mounting or stock customization, once in a great while one will appear that is in good condition and will be valued at $600.00-$700.00 but the military trainers bring the greater prices, especially if in excellent unaltered condition,
