.45 Kimber custom accuracy

Looking for experienced Kimber owners opinion (hopefully factual) as to the accuracy of the weapon "out of the box". Can it hold 2.5"-3" at 50 yards?

Looking to buy one in the near future for Bullseye competition IF they are as good as advertised. (Most shooters I've talked with are using Colts and claim Kimbers at about 8" dia.)

Thanks

i cannot attest to my kimber's 50yrd accuracy but they both feed flawlessly with my reloads. i have never put them on paper to see how they group. i would imagine they will group better than you can hold them (no disrespect to your shooting). and should be just fine for bullseye.

Of course a die-hard Colt fan is going to bash Kimber. If I'm driving a Lincoln I'm going to preach all day about how it's better than a Cadillac. With all that money invested, some would feel stupid if they agreed that someone else's gun was better than theirs. Especially in a competitive environment. Take it all with a grain of salt. Know your firearm and a Kimber will hold it's own alongside a Colt Gold Cup all day long. Both guns are more capable than most shooters' abilities anyways.

I've only shot mine on paper at 25yds. The .45 TLE II (fixed sights) is a 2.5-3 and the .38 super is 1-2. I'm still experimenting with different loads. I've hit the 12x12 metal plate at 100yds 7 of 7 shots.

Any properly set up .45 with a good match barrel and fitted bushing should do that if the ammo is suitable. If you get a Kimber custom and it doesn't shoot well with at least one or two kinds of ammo , I'd send it back to them for adjustment.
