So I`m sitting here waiting for the wife to get home from work, playing on the computor when I herar a knock from the other room. I turn the volume down on the tv and I hear it again. So I`m thinking why arent they useing the doorbell.I get up from my chair and walk down the hall for the front of the house and I hear it again. It`s coming frome the back of the house and not the front door. The bell doesn`t work at the back door ,but I`m thinking who would be comeing to the back of the house? As I get to the living room I see a sandhill crane tapping at the liveing room window.
We throw a few hands full of corn out everyday for the critters and he brings the wife and kid to chow down several times a day. I guess he`s figured out how to go about getting fed if there`s nothing waiting for them. He did that once last year too.I guess he has a good memory.
I took them out a few hands full and now they are happy.

Even song birds will tap the window for food ... once the food is given they have hit pay dirt and will do it again and again.....
We have three of them. They will chase away the deer until they have had thier fill ,then they walk away and the other critters can have a little.
Hummingbirds tap on the windows here, if we don't keep their feeders full.
The crane is training you to be a good butler.
Cranes, huh? Neat.

The hummers do that here too, and probably did it a lot today
since we were away and not here to fill them twice...as we usually do.
