Does anyone have any experience with these rifles? What do you think? They are chambered for .22 Hornet and .222 Remington. You can usually see them offered on the Gun Broker auction by what appears to be a commercial operation, though I don't see any at this time. Also, what do you like better, the Hornet or .222? K-Hornet? Do any of these have any advantage over the .223?

I have been considering a low-cost, lightweight single-shot chambered for a small caliber (such as an NEF in .223) for a future purchase. The Brno/CZ looks interesting, but I don't know anyone who has had any experience with one who could tell me why it would be better than the NEF.I agree on the .223. I can't think of any advantage to the Hornet or the .222 either, though I would enjoy hearing others' opinions on this topic.I'll pass on your message. Say Hi to the Mrs.

This sounds like an interesting rifle. I've never seen one but wanted a BRNO mini mauser with double set triggers for 40 years. If you handload it really doesn't matter which you choose but I would be looking at either the Hornet or 223. The Hornet can always be opened up to the K at a later date if you needed just a little more steam. The Hornet worked well for me in the 60's on chucks well over 200 yards and very importantly, you could spot and hear your hits because even with max handloads the blast and concussion was very much less than the .222 of my companion. The .223 blast is much greater. If this isn't a consideration and you want to shoot 300-500 yards, then go for the 223 for greater power.
