A couple weeks ago there was some threads here about a big gun ban in Chicago that was to take place at the beginning of this month. I searched to hell and back and cannot find anything about this, then or now.

Did it happen? Did the big ban become effective and are the guns being turned in?

Personaly I think it was a hoax or gross exageration of the truth but maybe somebody here has hard eveidence and can prove me wrong.

I believe there was a requirement for police to turn in their private "assault weapons". The rationale that comes to mind is a fear of the police becoming an independent militia in the event of riot or insurrection. I hope they dont comply.

The last i heard it happened, and was all firearms except officers duty weapons. I hope the increase or more publisized shootings gives richie boy alot of nightmares. Glad i live north of the city, feels good to sleep with that high power in the night stand.

"All weapons" has an unconstitutional ring to it.
This issue needs to get an airing in court.
