My ears started ringing and my eyebrows turned to ashes and fell off as soon as I saw the picture.

Sorry, but not!! a good buy. needs at least a 26 inch barrel to be a good shooter. Unless your shots are no further than 50 yards!!

Wonder who's idea it was for such a short barrel???

Of course I can play the piano, as long as it has pedals!

If you put an Encore type grip on it, I believe thats about what you'd have, an Encore.

If that's the case then how would you explain the great success of the Marlin Guide Gun?

I can't help you on the marlin guide gun but I've shot several shots out of a 45-70 "hand cannon" revolver and didn't have any severe problems with it. Altho I did hang on.

I own a Marlin Guide Gun in 45/70 with 16 inch barrel, shoots fine out to 100 yards but I use it mainly in thick cover, also easy to carry on an atv.

Gimme a break, That forend is truly disgustipatin. There's nothing wrong with a 22" carbine barrel that shortening will improve or the Army would have done it.
My 1863 shoots great at 100 yards.
