We also got over to the Adirondack Museum at Blue Mountain Lake. Something foe every age there.
Nice shots...
For the life of me. I don't know why I didn't get any pictures of it. In a glass display case, there rests a beautiful, pre-64 M94. 24" barrel, half magazine and the nicest wood I have ever seen on an M94.
It's been years but I can remember a wooden sail boat in the lobby of the museum that was all hand built and beautiful. I can also remember climbing up { I think it was called west mountain} and carving my initials in a tree just off the trail going up to the fire tower. That must have been close to 55 years ago. I wonder if I could still find that tree.
The boat is still in the main lobby...."The Witch" was a racing sloop. She is a beautiful, handmade boat....not a single nail used in her construction. They also have a whole building dedicated to just work and pleasure boats used in the lakes.
We are going to go back again this summer, so we can get through the rest of the buildings.
I also remember a room full of stage coaches like you would see out West in the movies.
They are still there, along with many sleds used for logging and sleighs for passengers.
We were there a lot when the kids were small.
Unfortunately, we never got up there at ice-out when there was prime fishing.
I never even heard of Salmon River till after we moved south.
