what to buy?

I've got $250.00.

I am thinking of the following:

1. a Nagant revolver (I don't have one)
2. Romanian Tokarev (I don't have one)
3. Beretta 951 (refinished) (I don't have one)
4. CZ 82 (I already have one, can't hurt to have another).

So, what should I get?

Sold another old toy for $375.00. Looking for either a .380 or 9mm that is a "pocket pistol". I've narrowed it down to the following:

    1. Bersa .380 (and have money left over for other stuff)
    2. CZ Rami (I'd have to add some $, but I love my CZ 75, but this is also a little on the big side)
    3. Kel Tec P3AT (Super small, but I have reservations)
    4. Sig 232 (I found one used for $395, in box minimal wear, clearly carried more than shot, but aftermarket grips; I assume I could get it for $375 or less).

    I welcome your comments!

I need to buy a 22 to have on hand when the neighbor kids want to go shooting as I don't have a pistol in that cal. I have rifles in 22 but not a pistol. I would like to know which 22 revolver and or semi. would be the best and safest to get for kids learning to shoot pistols. Any ideas would be welcome.

M1A1 - you will love this gun, period! Once I bought mine I wondered what took me so long. Only downside I can think of, the price of mags!

preban AR 15 - Plenty of accessories, mags are plentiful and cheap if you look in the right places

remington pss 308 - match ammo is a little pricey. I'm itching to for warm weather. Mine's been sitting in the gun case since December.

CMP still has plenty of O3s. Get the Garand though, as who knows when they will run out.

A good list of wants, reflects your terrible shortage of high-power (as opposed to low power like 7.62X39) rifles.

Start with either the M1 Garand or the M1A and buy the other second. Follow that with a good bolt gun (I lean toward the Remington 700) in either 30-06 or .308.

Good time to find out about the girlfriend - if she objects, rethink whether or not you really want her around!

What shootist said. If she objects to your guns and gun purchases now you are headed for nothing but trouble.

Trade-in the girlfriend for a M1 Garand. Just kidding about the girlfriend but do get a Garand.

Pack slow, fall stable, pull high, hit dead center.

My vote is for the Garand too.

The rest will be around for a long time, and who knows when having a high power rifle will come in handy

    The way I see it, if you have enough for an M1A or a Pre-Ban AR-15, you could buy the;
Yugo Mauser AND Cetme 308 AND Enfield 303 AND Savage 10FP Tactical ... Yep! 4 instead of 1

THAT should solve the girlfriend problem ... she'll either accept it or hit the road ... no problem!

If you really desire something, you'll find a way ?
? otherwise, you'll find an excuse.

thanks for all the advice. it will be awhile before i can get any of these but as shootist puts i CLEARLY need a high power rifle. the nagant at 7.62x54 is pretty stout but you will also notice that i have a lot of calibers that are not domestic. seems to make sense to have a round that i can always get locally.

    thanks mdcac
