I want to buy to a boresighter for rifle, muzzleloader and shotgun use. Does anyone have a favorite brand or style? I have looked at lasers in Cabells'a, any ideas on which ones to look for or avoid??

No idea on what to get but DON"T get that laser boresighter sold at Wal-Mart. It really sucks. Simmons, Tasco, Bushnell, and Leupold all make good 'uns. You'll know the bad one if you see it, it comes in a black box, flat, about 8" X 10" and has a green sleeve type packaging. My friend got one and took it back within 30 minutes.

I use a Bushnell and it is just fine. Last week someone posted using a small diameter laser pointer that slides into the chamber, and presumably you point it down the hall about 25 feet and zero the scope. I'm gonna try that.[This message has been edited by He Dog (edited 12-17-2001).][This message has been edited by He Dog (edited 12-17-2001).]

He Dog,I think you can get those out of Cabela's. I've never used one though. Sounds like it would have to work though.

He Dog, have had a couple "light bore sighters". The one by Stony which slides in the breech works. Just take your time when adjusting it, as it has two.If working with 7mm + sized bores the adaptor does help. But, by all means start looking for extra batteries, they are AAAA (4 A). Camera shops about the only place that stocks them. The Lasersyte is similar to using toilet paper that has holes in it. Frustrating, save the $$$.
