(Huntsville, Texas-AP) -- Texas has executed a second inmate in as many days.
Forty-eight-year-old Calvin Eugene King of Dallas was put to death this evening for a robbery-slaying he committed during a drug deal while he was on parole.
King is the 28th person in Texas to receive a lethal injection this year. In a brief final statement, he said, "I want to say God forgives as I forgive and God is the greatest."
King was on parole for burglary at the time of the 1994 slaying. He also had convictions for theft.
