I have a new marlin and I went to add the serial number
to my files. The problem is I can't locate the number.
I thought it would be under the barrel but I don't see it.
Can anyone tell me were to look for the serial nimber.
thanks Vince

I have the Marlin Guide Gun in 45/70 and the serial number is on top where the stock joins the receiver, easy to see,do not have to remove anything.

On my 1895 LTD 1895 the serial number is on the left side of the receiver. On my 1894CP and 39A it is on the top stock strap (Maybe called the tang?)
