Question for the women on this forum

Have any of you experience both child bearing and being shot? Not necessarily at the same time, of course. Curious about the differences in pain caused by both.

Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche

I'd say many have given birth, few have been shot.

I would imagine it comparable to a good kick in the cohones.

I understand that it's a small subset of women generally and that there may not even be one on this forum.

Oh no. Must be totally different. We often here ladies talk about how painful giving birth is. Also, we hear them discuss their next child (even if they already have several).

I just believe a swift kick to the knuts of a male is much more painful than a lady giving birth. Proof: How many males do you hear who want to be kicked (again).

I heard that the pain from kidney stones compared to childbirth. Really don't want to try childbirth to make my own comparison.[8D]

    I have heard this also.

Yes, have given birth twice. No, never been shot. I don't think it is a fair comparison. Everyone has different thresholds of pain. I had a wisdom tooth pulled a few years ago and drew a dry socket that rocketed me into a dimension of pain I never experienced before.

Can't answer the question because I've never been shot. Have birthed four babies though but couldn't give you a comparison of nuts to births since physically being able to do both would make me a gazillionaire.....

    and I ain't rich yet. [8D]

Interesting. I appreciate the response from the females who are so by genetics.[:D]

Incidentally, I've had kidney stones before. Not a fun experience I can tell you.

But my wife had them while giving birth. She's tougher than anyone I know.

Therein again, lies the problem. You've never birthed a baby and I've never been cracked in the cajones.

And although, I had four, after the pain of the first one, the other three arrived with a good dose of spinal block.

Also, there is a reward for birthing babies and nothing good is gained by the receiver of a bop to the boys.

Yes, but you forget about the pain almost immediately. Your thoughts shift to,"is the baby alright?! Is he/ she normal!? 10 fingers/ ten toes?!" Almost immediately after giving birth.

Labor is what sucks. The "birthing" part is easy by comparison. And all these young ladies nowadays get epidurals.

I can only give second hand comments. My wife, who has never been shot, said men might compare childbirth to the worst case of constipation they ever had, followed by trying to push out a lump the size of a baby. That coming from a woman who gave birth to two babies, one a 10 lb 1 oz, the other a 10 lb 10 oz using natural childbirth (no epi). OUCH! That brings tears to the eyes just remembering those days. [;)][:D]
(BTW, I learned a whole bunch of new words sitting next to her during those labor sessions. [}:)][:D])

Trying to give men a slight understanding of the pain is hard to do, but I will attempt it.

My mother had three children and also passed kidney stones at different points in her life. She said the pain was comparable.

I have been electrocuted and given birth (not at the same time).

Anywho, the intense muscle spasm achieved by electrocution were it to be prolonged over say 30 or 40 hours compares to the pain I experienced when birthing #1. So, being a fast learner, I went right to the spinal block (epidural to which Andrea referred) when I had the other three.

    Mama didn't raise no fool.

Also, different women experience different levels of pain, locations of pain and length of labor. My labor pains were in my back and were enough that with the first child I actually bent the bed rails of the labor bed. I'm 5 feet tall and weighed a whopping 135 lbs when I did that.

I asked my better half once what it is like to give birth. She told me it was like passing a Volkswagen....I asked on the right or on the left?

Never gave birth but I was shot twice and blown up once in VN. I also had 3rd degree burns over 1/2 of my body along with a hole all the way thru my stomach into my intestines about 5 years ago. The burns hurt a 1000 times more than being shot. Giving birth, the pain last until the child is born (according to my wife) Being shot last until you get jacked up on morphine. 3rd degree burns hurt 24/7 even with morphine. I was taking the max I could take in an hour without killing myself. Still didn't relieve my pain. That pain lasted a good 4 months.

Still wouldn't care to give birth, even if I was built for it.[:D]

Having been shot I think it depends on where you have neen shot on your physical body.

I have been told that the pain from rotator cuff surgery is comparable to childbirth. I cannot verify this personally, but I know that rotator cuff surgery is painful, as I have had two. I also have had heart bypass surgery, and the pain was not as bad.

I believe it is a matter of priority reward and fulfillment, for women a baby is the best reward and fulfillment for the pain that is why they do it over and over. In the other hand we get nothing but the pain for getting kicked in the cojones, but just think for a moment if we where equaly rewarded with the gun of our choice for each kick, I wonder how many times we would talk about the next one.
    just a thought.

I would imagine that the pain of being shot depends on where you're hit. I know that a leg wound burns - ALOT - and the bruising lasts for quite some time (temporary cavitation does alot of damage), as does the swelling. Then after being off that leg for some time it takes a bit to regain coordination with it.

Having never given birth, I can only say I'd rather not experience it personally and I'd rather not see another bullet come out of my leg!!

No, being kicked in the nuts is worse.

    Want proof? Here it is.

Women complain of the pain of childbirth, but a year later, they decide they want to go through that pain again. Some of them again, and again, and again.

Virtually all men have been kicked in the testicles, or had them impacted by similar force, and I'll guarantee you'll never hear a man say,

"I think I want to be kicked in the nuts again!"

Guys, you keep missing the point. After getting whopped you have nothing to show for it.

The labor pains I experienced were excrutiating and had we not wanted more children, there would have been no way in hades that I would have gone through that again.

Alas, the only way to have them was to have them, so I did.

Because my German doctor was kind enough to see how hard my labor was he offered an epidural after four hours of mind numbing pain.

So, after that I was able to get through the pain and receive this reward:

Four beautiful, healthy, happy children. If you think about it, if women didn't put the excrutiating pain away to continue to have little ones, none of us would be here today.

For some ladies, the pain might not be as bad, for me, I would rather have walked through hot coals then go through it again were it not for the result.

Susie, with all due respect, I'm not missing the point. The OP was asking about the pain differentiation between childbirth and gunshots. That migrated to childbirth and testicular pain.

The discussion is limited to the pain involved, not esoteric or emotional "advantages" after the fact.

That would be non sequitur. Outside the parameters of the discussion of pain.

Based on the evidence presented, ie women choose this pain multiple times, men never wish to have it repeated, testicular pain is henceforth and forever deemed more painful than childbirth.

    Case closed. [:D]

    Crit.

    PS.

All in good fun, of course.

Men, for the most part, cannot handle the pain women willingly endure. Comparing the genders regards anything is pure folly.
